As many traditional banks were born in the last decade, competing with truly cloud-native organisations like challenger and neobanks led them to restructure themselves under a unified digital strategy.
During the recent pandemic, most traditional banks were forced to invest in cloud-based structures, to allow remote access for their customers and employees. However, moving the existing structure and processes to the cloud created more challenges, while digital organisations, without physical structure restrictions were gaining significant market share.
Could this mean that traditional banks have to reinvent themselves, embracing a holistic digital transformation strategy or will the implementation of vertical solutions be enough? How easy can such a transition be?
